Chinese Bachs…
James Wang, from China, has begun translating my blog into Chinese. I’ve never been to China, but it’s the sixth most popular source of visitors to my blog.
I have no way to know how good the translations are, but I will continue to use American idioms and jargon that will tax the hardiest polylingual logophile– mostly because I can’t help it. I like the sound of words. It’s childish, but there you go.
One of my articles was translated into Swedish. I think my book was translated into Spanish, but I don’t clearly recall. I just wonder how they do it. I wonder if I sound in Chinese the way Martin Pol sounds in English?

your book was on spanish? did you remember the title (in spanish)?
[James’ Reply: I can’t seem to find it in Spanish. Maybe someone merely asked to translate it, but never did. But while searching I did find the book in Japanese!]

I wonder if it would be feasible to get a community of bi lingual bloggers together that could translate posts into different languages. I’ve played around with other language translations on my blog but they just don’t seem up to snuff.
