After reading "Moneyball", any major league baseball game can become a forum for thinking harder about how to evaluate systems.
"Moneyball" is one of the best books I've read in the past couple of years. It has encouraged me to think much harder about how to describe and measure the testing activities that I and my team perform, and evaluate the contributions that each team member makes to our efforts and to the ultimate quality of the prodct.

"Memento" is fantastic, and definitely has many lessons for those who believe that the documentation will tell you what to do when you need it later, after you've forgotten.

I would add "Lost in La Mancha" to this list. See

I'm glad to see you join the bloggers' ranks, James. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your writing.

A thought... Apollo 13 should be on this list. The scenes where Gary Sinise's character is going through about a million test cases to figure out which way the product works reminds me of the kind of fire-drill, "we need to get this out now so test it quickly" stuff that I'm used to seeing.

In some ways, it's more about a development hack, but it definitely reminds me of QA efforts I've seen.

Just my $0.02.
