Twitter? Twitter!
I’ve been confused about Twitter. When I browse tweets I see disjointed conversations about silly and banal subjects. Twitter has seemed to me like a celebration of shallowness. What’s the big deal?
This article has turned me around. The big deal is the present moment, the zeitgeist of the infinitesimal now. Instant reactions and the emergence of ideas. That’s what Twitter is about.
I just joined Twitter under the name JamesMarcusBach. I will use the account to tweet about my learning activities, mostly. A little bit about testing, too.

suggestion - put http://www.twitter.com/JamesMarcusBach as the link to your twitter name - it makes you easier to follow.
[Done. Thanks!]

Maybe, if you are following the news, having immediate knowledge of an event is important or even desired. But I’m not sure I grasp the need for the “infinitesimal now” when an idea should be pondered over, contemplated and digested. Then it becomes a matter of staying up with the most current “tweet” which, in my mind, takes time away from the “digestion” process.

[James' Reply: I agree. I've gone from having no interest and no clue how Twitter could be useful to seeing how it might be useful. I still don't know if it actually is useful for me.]

There’s also some sort of mechanism to autopost tweets to Facebook.
